Traumatic Incident Reduction, or short T.I.R., is an amazing and most of all effective, evidence-based modality in the field of Metapsychology, which is also accept as a trauma healing modality by the board of psychologists and the school of social work.
T.I.R. was designed specifically for people who suffer from PTSD.
This modality works by releasing the emotional charge or trigger associated with traumatic events. By releasing the emotional attachment to the trauma, we had to experience, that trauma becomes just another part of our life story, no more or less significant than the color of the carpet under our feet.
HOW DOES T.I.R. WORK?
The methodology of T.I.R. is to walk the client through a traumatic incident repetitively by the means of powerful questioning. This method brings any charges to the surface to be evaluated and released until there is no emotional charge left. Once no emotions are left attached to the traumatic incident, the memory of the trauma will fade peacefully into the abyss and will just be a faint memory like any other insignificant part of one’s life.
T.I.R. works in a session sequence of 3 individual steps. The first step is called ‘Exploration’. In this session, the client will talk about one specific traumatic subject, for example an incident, a person, a place.
The next step is called ‘Unblocking’, where the facilitator will ask a series of questions, which will already help release many triggers in the client. The last part of this session sequence is called ‘Traumatic Incident Reduction’. In this session, the client will go through one previously chosen traumatic incident until an emotional release has been achieved.
When we hold on to charges, they block everything out that lies underneath. By releasing those charges, that what was buried beneath, will rise up next. This is how T.I.R. works. By releasing layer by layer of traumatic memories and triggers, we gradually get to the root cause and once this root cause is released, the trauma will become no more significant than what we had to eat the day before.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE BEFORE I SEE RESULTS?
T.I.R. is not just an effective, evidence-based modality, it can also produce results rather quickly.
That being said, it greatly depends on the willingness of the client to follow the guidance of the facilitator and purposefully observe their trauma.
If a client immerses themselves into this modality, results can already be witnessed after only two sessions, long before the actual T.I.R.
HOW CAN T.I.R. ENRICH MY LIFE?
Everything that ever happened in your life becomes part of your story.
But no part of your story should have any control over your emotions and with that control over your life. You should always be in control of your life and make it what you want it to be. Yet, sometimes a traumatic event can stop you in your tracks and you become a prisoner of that trauma for many years and sometimes even for the rest of your life.
With T.I.R. you can free yourself from that emotional prison the trauma has put you in.
Releasing your trauma means changing how you feel about a part of your story so that you can rise above it and be the person you are meant to be – like a Phoenix rising from the ashes.
